Walkway, Patio, and Deck for Historic Caboose

Sarpy County Historical Museum
Bellevue, Nebraska

SIEREX partnered with the Sarpy County Historical Museum and the City of Bellevue to design and build an ADA compliant deck, sidewalk path, and railroad turntable patio area to showcase a historic Union Pacific caboose on the property. This project highlights SIEREX design capabilities, and the attention to detail required for compliance with the museum’s Community Development Block Grant, a program of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development that funds local community development activities. This project won a 2017 CDBG Achievement Award.

Scope of Work:

  • Improve the front entrance walkway ramp to evoke a train yard turntable setting (those are real railroad rails!)
  • Construct and install concrete path walkway and patio area
  • Build an ADA compliant accessible cedar ramp and elevated deck
  • Replace pavers
